Research Interests

Broadly, my interest is evolutionary ecology, but my passion is understanding variation in life history strategies, both within and among species. Currently, I am examining how vegetative phenology, food availability, competition, and predation risk interact with individual condition to influence stopover site selection and subsequent behaviors in migratory birds.

More generally I am interested in:

  • Life history evolution
  • Avian ecology
  • Behavioral ecology
  • Physiological ecology
  • Conservation biology
  • Adaptive management
  • Human impact biology
